[net.sf-lovers] An obscure, trivial question

bsmith@mprvaxa (08/26/83)

After seeing all the messages responding to the question about the
sequel to "Not Final" (if you've missed the answer it's "Victory
Unintentional", from "The Rest of the Robots"), I thought I'd see what
happens with a really obscure, trivial question. So, here goes:

Dominic Flandry appears in one novel NOT written by Poul Anderson.
What is the name of the novel and who is the author?

				       Go to it, trivia fans!

Doesn't Flandry appear in one of Bertram Chandler's novels about
John Grimes, late of the Federation (?) Survey Service? I beleive
the story in question deals with one of Grimes' trips along the
unexplored Rim of the galaxy, or perhaps out of the galaxy entirely,
visiting a severley inprobable planet, but damme, I can't think of the name
of the story.

I think the title is something like "Contraband from Outerspace" where
John Grimes and company meet up with the Outsider.
