[net.music] Mixers and PA Systems

smme@ihnss.UUCP (S. M. Enochs) (08/10/84)

A friend of mine is interested in buying a PA system and an 8-channel
mixer, however, he is not sure who has the best quality, the pros/cons
of this one over that one, etc. If you have any information that might
help please send mail to me at ihwld!smme or post it to the net.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if money is important, but for the price
you can hardly beat Peavey sound systems.

In the band that I play in, we have a Peavey Mark IV 24 channel
mixer, and the Peavey Project I system (speakers - Bass, Mid-Bass,
Mid, and High freq. enclosures) tri-amped. The sound is incredible!

I know this is more than you're looking for, but the point is that
equivalent "name" brand equipment (e.g. E.V. horns, Crown amps, etc.)
would easily cost 3 times what we paid for this system.
So make sure you check them out. From talking with other knowledgable
people, they all have good things to say about Peavey. (Including
a fellow who has done mixing and provided systems for Springstein)
