>I know that Strousop's (sp?) book is the standard, but how good is it? >Is it a good tutorial, or just a good reference manual? I had two books available when I started learning C++. One was the Strousup book; the other was published by the Howard W. Sams Co. The latter was quite inferior, lacked examples, and seemed more of an advertisement for the other books in their series. I actually read these books to produce code for the Connection Machine rather than straight C++, so I can't recommend any compilers. Stuart Lichtenthal smlg1015@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu
