One of the things that has always fascinated me is a special musical instrument keyboard designed for an American company and built in Italy. The keyboard has a special feature to it - it is touch sensitive, outputting what (when digitized) becomes either a four bit or eight bit number telling a computer or synthesizer how hard you hit the key. The purpose is that it can control volume of particular keys, as well as filter changes and gates to make a very sincere sound. One of the things that I always liked doing was writing basic programs on my IMS for this keyboard that would read how hard you hit these keys, and trying to tell the computer what kind of a mood you were in based on your light or heavy playing of the keyboard....Wouldn't it be interesting to apply this to typewriter-style keyboards, to give a computer an additional sense, and to make the computer more aware that you may type worse or better based on your heaviness.... Just an idea....Suggestions welcome by mail....
