[comp.lang.c] void * on pre-ANSI compilers ????

fredex@cg-atla.UUCP (Fred Smith) (02/10/90)

I have recently come across some code whichis currently running on
Sun 3.5 OS (68K machines, not 386i) which contains objects declared
as void* and other places some casts of objects to void *.

I am unaware of any implementations prior to those which follow ANSI
that implemented void*. If anyone out there KNOWS what it means when
used on this compiler I would appreciate a note from you. (It is not
entirely clear from its usage that it means the same thing that ANSI
says it means.)

Thanks!`
