There was a small press hardback reissue of DeCamp and Pratt's
"Wall of Serpents" several years ago (I have a copy packed up somewhere);
I believe the publisher was Owlswick Press (George H. Scithers, former
editor of Asimov's SF Magazine). Many such hardback reissues, but SF presses
or specialty library publishers, are available at the Moonstone Bookcellars
in Washington, D. C.

The story about aliens having trouble with the crafty Terrans sounds
familiar. The query did confuse it with a story by Asimov ("Homo Sol")
in which the Galactics pacify a semi-civilized Earth by sending in members
of Galactic cultures who look like various Greek gods.

Eric Frank Russell wrote several stories in which the pacifistic Earthmen
overcame warlike aliens by dint of noncooperation and moral superiority.
My favorite is "Late Night Final". Does anyone know of similar stories
by other writers (other than Sturgeon's "The Skills of Xanadu").
