I recently created a simple line editor and released it to the public domain. Its a solid piece of code, however, there is something strange that is happening when its used with postnews/inews on a 3B2/400 under System V Rel 3.1. Postnews seems to be doing its job ok, as a saved version of a post will be ok. However, once it gets posted the first line of text will always be deleted - no matter how many blank lines there are. Needless to say, this does not happen with vi. My guess is that inews is clobbering the line when it adds its header information (like Lines: ##). I don't have access to section 8 of the manual set where inews is described.
