Hi netters I am looking around for a group which discuss software packages for programmers, like C-scape, XQL, db_vista, codebase 4, etc. Most of these are for the DOS world, but many also support Unix/Mac etc. Most are written in C and/or for C programmers. This group seems to discuss only the C language, or C compilers. I have tried comp.os.msdos.programmer and didnt get even a single reply! Specifically, I was looking for information about CQL/PASS by M.I.P. It supposed to implement full SQL, report & screen generator, etc, and comes with full C source and no royalties, for less than 400$ ... sounds to good to be true. Anyone who have used it cares to comment? Thanks! Michael Golan mg@princeton.edu

We bought it and returned it. While it may work on the PC, it certainly did not work on a Sun-3, Sun-4, Apollo, Sequent, or Vax-Ultrix. The shipment we got would not compile, and when we got it to compile, would not work. The customer support was surley, and not helpful. I posted a more detailed response to comp.database last week, you may want to check there for what I forgot to mention in this article.
