[comp.lang.c] Pop-down window useage question

We're thinking of using/developing pop-down (+ possible tear-away) windows for
our next application.  My question: what kind of objects are "legal" in such
windows (and what have you seen in other programs).  We can think of 
checkboxes, radio-buttons, and possibly "sliders" (like for controlling the
sound volume).
