There has alwys been something that bothered me about Jim Hogan's "The Two Faces of Tomorrow". During the period when the computer is fighting the people it constructs these ships that somehow shoot out x-rays at unknowing ships. Then later in the novel some computer technicians get hold of a terminal and start inputting technical data to the program and the program is in awe at the wonders of science. Question: How could the program design the x-ray ships (that the humans don't have) and not know the "wonders of science". From "the Two Terminals of Dwight Bartholomew ... !pur-ee!physics!dub
