[comp.lang.c] Help. End of diskette VS EOF

In DOS is there a way to tell the difference between the end of a
diskette and the end of a file.  I would like to write files that span
diskette volumes, thus I need to know when I am just at the end of a
diskette and when I am truely at the end of the file.

What is the easy way to do this, if there is one???
