- From: karl@haddock.ima.isc.com (Karl Heuer) - IMHO, the mistakes were (a) having char be an integral type in the first - place; (b) using the bastard logical-type "unsigned char or {EOF}" for error - handling; (c) making hardware that can easily sign-extend a byte but not - zero-extend it; (d) invading Kuwait; (e) using a character set with only 128 - values. But... I thought (d) was "getting involved in a land war in Asia". Or... IS Kuwait considered to be in Asia? I never was good at geography. -- Wayne Throop <backbone>!mcnc!rti!sheol!throopw or sheol!throopw@rti.rti.org
