[net.sf-lovers] : another request for title/author

ofut@gatech.UUCP (10/27/83)

I remember many years ago (as a young kid) reading a book which
I thoroughly enjoyed and would like to see again, even if it's
truly a juvenile. (I was reading both juveniles and adults at the
time and didn't really distinguish).

The premise was that 3 quarters of Europe had died from the black
plague rather than one quarter and a South American civilization
had subsequently "discovered" Europe and showed them the light
of civilization. The book was about a young man travelling from
Europe to the great cities of South America to college or some such.

It was set in about our own time but sailing (maybe steam) ships
were still in vogue. I remember a lot about the sport of knife
throwing.

Thanx and let's keep this one in the mail. Probably the originator
of a request should post it publically rather than flooding the
net with dozens of replies. Thanx again.
