Yeh, I wrote one when I was in school too.

It's getting close to finals time, and while it is tempting,
this newsgroup is not the place for getting your homework
done. This group (comp.lang.c) and comp.lang.pascal (the other
group to which this article was posted) is meant for mutual exchange
(and education) concerning these languages. Not only is it unethical,
but I'm sure your school has an honor code which prohibits this
type of activity. I'm getting tired of seeing "do my homework"
requests on this network!!!! How in the hell do you expect to
learn anything if others do it for you all the time?!?!?!?!?

Well, I also dislike seeing requests of this type on the net. A great
deal of bandwidth would be saved if people would RTFM before they post.
Meaning, for the uninitiated, that requests like the one mentioned can
be fulfilled by referring to standard reference works. That is why
they are called reference works. I object to censorship in all its
forms, but one can certainly hope that people who post such basic
questions, especially if it is for the purpose of avoiding doing
their coursework, will have an acute and preferably fatal attack
of Conscience.

One learns by doing for onesself, and if you think you can get away
with having the net do your work for you once you're in the 'real'
world, well, sooner or later your employer will find out.

Think about that.

Of course, we couldn't censor such questions or the answers to them
from the net, not even if we wanted to. But I suggest and I fervently
hope that anyone who wishes to have the net do their 'homework' for
them will think very carefully about what they are doing. It's never
a pretty sight when a programmer is cut off in the prime of life by
a sudden Attack of Conscience.
