What are the major changes from MSC 5.1 to MSC 6.0? Does MSC 6.0 know how to handle 32-bit switches? Is there any way to make MSC 6.0 use 32-bit ints? Is there any othe C compiler which has _very_ UNIX-like libraries? I have to port a program from UNIX workstations to DOS and don't want to spend too much time on it, since I simple _hate_ MSDOS. bye, mike ____ ____ / / / / / Michael K. WOW! Is MicroSoft C 6.0 the buggiest thing ever created or what?? I borrowed a friend's copy to see if I want to buy it myself (I am a Turbo C person, myself, but want to write stuff for Windows). Well, I can barely get out of the gate! It seems like SETUP named the libraries all wrong. When I fixed that and finally got the little sample program to run (the one that asks for the date and then prints it out) it printed a lot of garbage where the date should have been. AND... it's slower than a dog, too! Turbo C cranks out their sample program, and functioning perfectly I might add, in about 5 seconds. It takes about a minute to rebuild from scratch with the MSC. What gives here? I have heard 6.0 was buggy, but is it really THAT buggy?? Thanks for any info. Mark C. Lowe - KB5III RDW2030@TAMVENUS.BITNET
