From: Janice <MDC.JANICE%MIT-OZ@MIT-MC.ARPA> The story about the house in the shape of a tesseract is not by Clarke, but by Heinlein, and is called "And He Built a Crooked House." It has one of the funniest opening paragraphs ever written. Janice <mdc.janice@mit-oz> -------

No, No, No! "And he Built a Crooked House" is by Heinlein, not Clarke! I beleive there is a Clarke story, :The Nine Billion Names of God", in the collection. Both stories, whether in the collection or not, are excellent. I think it's about time someone posted the table of contents of Fantasia and also Magpie, I'd do it but my copy is 250 miles away... --mike bergman bergman.softarts@mit-multics

Probably the reason so many people think that Clarke wrote the book about the tesseract rather than Heinlan is that the story appeared in an anthology put together by Clarke among other places. The name is something like The Science in Science Fiction and is one of my favorites. It has such notable stories as The Little Black Bag, Not Final and others. If you see a copy pick it up - you won't be dissapointed.
