[comp.lang.c] SCO UNIX - using -D with strings

dt@mathcs.emory.edu (Dave Taylor {guest}) (01/30/91)

I have picked up a lot of public domain software and one of the things I
keep running into is the -D define when used with a string. Here is a typical
error message when I try to compile. I have tried just about all combinations
for ",\",',\', no quotes, etc and I continue to get this error. I am a novice
so excuse me if the answer to this in in the FM. Please tell me where to look
for the answer (other than under cc(CP) :-), thanks.)

	cc -DSYSV -DSYSV -DLOG=\"/u/games/lib/snake2.scores\" -O -c getkey.c
``: Exit status 1
*** Error code 1

Stop.

I appreciate ANY help you can give...thanks again.
