I am currently using TurboC version 1.5 and am considering upgrading to the current version (which is what?). My question concerns what benifits are derived by telling TurboC to compile '286 or '386 specific code. The 1.5 version allows '286 specific code generation. My question is: Does the current version of TurboC support generation of '386 specific code? And further, how much performance improvement should I expect when using this option. The program I'm planning on compiling does most of its work reading and decoding PCX/DCX bitmaps and processing them in an array in memory, there is very litte output generated on screen or to disk; will '386 specific code make these operations run faster? gauthier@ug.cs.dal.ca -- ============================================================================ Paul Gauthier | gauthier@ug.cs.dal.ca President, Cerebral Computer Technologies | tyrant@dalac.bitnet Phone: (902)462-8217 Fax: (send email first) | tyrant@ac.dal.ca
