[comp.lang.c] Where is the new protoize/unprotoize?

I read about protoize/unprotoize some time ago.  I downloaded it and
found it to be patches for a specific set of source code files.  I was
looking for a general purpose tool.  I just downloaded what appears to
be the latest version -- 1.39 -- and it appears to be the same thing as
before.  The FAQ for comp.lang.c says that a general purpose version is
on the way.  What's the latest news?
