Hi, I am wondering what are the major differences between Microsoft's QuickC 2.5 and 2.0. Does it compile and link dramatically faster than 2.0? Or there are new features not found in 2.0? Would someone e-mail me your opinions on whether or not I should upgrade from 2.0 to 2.5? Thank you in advance! ______________________________________________ Lee Chen <lchen@cs.ubc.ca> Vancouver, BC, Canada __________________________________________________________

From page 1 of the introduction of QC 2.5: Enhancements for QC 2.5: Language compatibility with MS C 6.0 Increased ANSI standard C compatibility Support for the tiny memory model Enhanced Graphics Library New Quickwatch debugging feature Customized color window support I think you got to make up your own mind if the new features are worth it to ya. How does one get the update from QC2.0 to QC2.5 anyway? I write Microsoft quite a few months back but never got a response. -- =============================================================================== Geoffrey DeWan -- gdewan@mrcnext.cso.uiuc.edu -- =============================================================================== Geoffrey DeWan -- gdewan@mrcnext.cso.uiuc.edu

I do have both of them. Write and evaluate the programs quickly in Quick and get a resonably code from PDS, espeacially interesting to get assembler source and / or better optimization. I really enjoy Quick C with Quick assembler. But for real applications You do need The MASM 5.1 (6.0) with PDS C. greetings, Kai. Kai Voelcker kai@tpki.toppoint.de 2300 Kiel ...!unido!tpki!kai
