I am really tired of reading about whether Dr. Who deserves his own news group and what it should be called. Why don't we try to discuss some Science Fiction instead of net nonsense? To that end the rest of this entry. I recently finished reading "The News Sun" series of books by Gene Wolfe. I can only echo the capsule reviews found around the cover of the last book in the series. This work has been praised by many and varied sources from U.K. LeGuinn to the N.Y. Times. I found the work to have several interesting attributes. There was some character development, especially in the main character/narator. The story was sometimes confusing but it was always riviting. There are 4 books in this series and I had great difficulty in putting any of them down. The only warning I can give is that you really must read this work at least twice in order to get the full impact.
