[comp.lang.modula2] Powell Modula-2 compiler

vanverth@canisius.UUCP (07/07/87)

We have a 1984 version of the Powell Modula-2 compiler
for UNIX 4.2. We are looking to upgrade this version
to a more recent version. However, we can't locate
Michael Powell; the DEC Western Research Laboratory
no longer exists. E-mail is returned for addressee
unknown; phone calls are referred to a DEC office that
doesn't seem to know anything about Powell or the
compiler.

Can anybody out there help us?

To avoid unnecessary replies, the address and phone
that DO NOT WORK:

You might try DEC-SRC. They were using the Powell compiler there & made
several enhancements.

I don't know their number, but I think that they're in Palo-Alto. If you
contact a DEC regional office, they may know more.

I attempted to mail this, but it bounced (several ways, too...)

Connection closed by foreign host.

Thus, if you send to decwrl.dec.com it SHOULD get to him. I don't have a
mail path to acetes, but my guess is decwrl does. If that doesn't work, send
mail to the postmaster there. If you cannot even get to decwrl, send me mail
and I will forward it (decwrl is just down the road a little ways...)
