does anyone have any information about public domain modula-2 compilers available for the macintosh? (important: *not* running under MPW). Mark

There is a public domain Modula2 at Sumex-Aim. If you have an ARPA access, you can ftp it, loging in as anonymous. The directory is <info-mac> and the files are mod1.hqx - mod13.hqx. I tried it and, while not using Mac user interface and having few bugs, I was able to compile and run some small programs (didn't try much yet). Hope it will work for you. --Gad Dafni.

An almost public Modula 2 is available from ETHZ (Zu(umlaut)rich, Switzerland) at about 100 Swiss Franc (or whatever the currency is called). It is 1-pass, loadtime link, symbolic postmortem debugger and reliable.
