[net.sf-lovers] source of quotation

dann@wxlvax.UUCP (Dan Neiman) (01/09/84)

Anyone know the source of the quote which goes something like...

" Meddle not with wizards for they are subtle and quick to anger"?

I think it's in the Ring trilogy somewhere, if so, I'd like to
know who says it and when, to avoid having to thumb through
    the entire 1500 pages.

    Thnks,

    dann

The exact quote goes:

"Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick
to anger." It occurs at Gildor's conversation with Frodo in Woodhall.
The quote is echoed by Merry, when Pippin was pondering the palantir.

A elbereth gilthionel, folks!
