I am going to be prototyping an object-oriented requirements analysis tool this year. We are presently planning on using an expert system shell to do it but I would also like to investigate whether there are modules to do much of the windowing and graphics editing. The target is the Sun 3 using Sun View and eventually X. The questions are: 1)are there X or SunView windowing modules/bindings with the usual capabilities (slide bars, buttons, pop/pulldown menus, etc) and 2) modules to draw graphs with primitive objects/icons (such as circles, dots, rectangles and freeform) and directed arcs (emanating from and going to icon centers, general edges and specialized locations), and 3) advanced goodies such as snapping and rubberbanding. Any help on data structures for graphic networks would also be appreciated. My hidden agenda is convincing myself that doing it in Modula-2 with adequate module support would be superior to prototyping using the expert system shell. Any recommendations on modules is appreciated. They can be commercial or public domain. Experiences doing similar projects also welcome. Thanks in advance for your help. Flames welcome. Thomas F. We're doing beta-testing for Sun and they now seem to have Modula-2 bindings to the XView toolkit. - Frode -- _____________________________________________________________________ Frode L.
