From: akov68::boyajian Ken Chan: When I was in Minneapolis for the Holidays, I asked a friend who works for Gordy Dickson what the status of THE FINAL ENCYCLOPEDIA (the penultimate work in the Childe Cycle) was. I had heard rumors that it was being split into 2 books. Dave told me that the book is indeed long -- I don't remember the staggering wordage, but it was about as long as BATTLEFIELD EARTH -- but there wasn't any intention, at least on Gordy's part, to split it into 2 books. The manuscript has been at Ace for about a year, but they haven't determined yet when they are going to schedule it or what format they'll publish it in. ---jayembee (Jerry Boyajian @ DEC Maynard) (decvax!decwrl!rhea!akov68!boyajian)
