We have used Modula-2 in our CS2 course for a year. This fall we will
begin using it in our CS1 course. I am still strongly considering Ada for
the first course.

The University of Central Florida uses Modula-2 (Logitech) in their first
three courses.

At the Johannes Kepler University, Linz, Austria(Europe), Modula2
is used as first CS language and also as the basis language of many
advanced courses (e.g. compiler construction).

We have used Modula-2 in our data structures courses for the past year.
This fall we will start using it in our first course. We have problems
with compiler support and lack of standard libraries and are considering
Ada for these courses.

Modula-2 is used as the first CS language at ETH Zurich. Anyone surprised?
Later in our sudies we also use Oberon on the Ceres machines ...

C is not taught at all (except from a very *short* intro in the 4th
semester) ...

M-2 is used as a first-year introductory language here at
Trinity College, Dublin for the Computer Science B.A.(Mod.)
so you can add us to your list of enlightened (?) institutions
