[comp.lang.modula2] TP 5.5. vs. JPI TS 2.0

Peter.M..Perchansky@f101.n273.z1.fidonet.org (Peter M. Perchansky) (07/11/90)

Hello Jeff:

I would have to look up the actual benchmarks, but JPI published a set of benchmarks done by an independent British company that showed TopSpeed Moula-2 (version 1.17) was faster than Turbo Pascal (I'm not sure what version).

Hello Jeff:

You can also tell your Pascal friends that speed is not everything to look for when comparing compilers or languages.

You must also look at ease of use, features, etc.

    N. Wirth (creator of Pascal) wrote Modula-2 as a "replacement" for Pascal; at least in his mind, Modula-2 is better than Pascal.
