I just got r1.06b of TopSpeed Modula-2 in the mail. The cover letter says it was sent to me "in response to [my] feedback" regarding the 1.04 version. I guess this is because of a bug report I made a while back. There are also a pair of coupons, for the next "major" release of M2, and for a 50% discount on any JPI product. I'm reasonably happy with this, considering that I only got the standard edition of the compiler, which doesn't include free upgrades. I haven't tried it out yet, but a note with the disks says that a new version of INITEXE is included, that will result in smaller EXE files for programs that don't call any C code. I assume this means that static variables aren't initialized to zero in this case. -David Hinds dhinds@cb-iris.stanford.edu
