[comp.lang.modula2] FASTER = STONY BROOK

Yes, Stony Brook has an exceptionally fast compiler. This is in
their professional package, and part of their overall system. They have
an optimizing compiler for production code, and a resident version called
QuickMod which runs like greased lightning for development. The QuickMod
compiler is *not* cut down, by the way. They develop their own compiler
in it and on a 386 they can compile and link a 15000 line source module
in 9 seconds. Call it about 45 seconds on your XT. For 15,000 lines,
linked and running, this ain't half bad. Microsoft's Macro Assembler is
a good deal slower than that. I think it's the faster compiler, of any
make or language, that money can buy.
You can reach Stony Brook at 805-496-5837.
