I recently received a letter from Logitech announcing their update from version 3.0 to 3.4 with a $10.00 upgrade. I had no problems sending in my check. However, what is Logitech's present status and owners? The last I knew they had bellied up. Who and what are they now? They announced a ~25% or so speed increase (much needed) but were a somewhat elusive on other improvements.

Yes I certainly have done. I've used it both for PC work and for
embedded systems, using a system call In-Bed sold here in Britain.
I haven't seen JPI modula-2 which everyone here seems to be raveing so
much about but I have to say appart from a few bugs Logitech seems to
be a fairly decent compiler and debugger. Maybe I'm just missing out.

A couple of days ago ames6817@snyplava.bitnet asked about the whereabouts of the Logitech Modula-2 compiler system. The development team responsible for the programming tools (compiler, debugger, editor etc) is now part of a new company, MultiScope Inc, where Logitech has a significant part of the shares. MultiScope Inc 905 Middlefield Rd Palo Alto, CA 95401 phone: (415) 323-4286 fax: (415) 323-4186 In Europe the main distributor is: Terra Datentechnik Bahnhofstr. 33 CH-8703 ERLENBACH Switzerland phone: +41 1 910 3555 fax: +41 1 910 1992 The latest revision is 3.40, with good offers on upgrades from previous versions. To me the best things about Logitech compared to other are: Large and comprehensive libraries and a very good set of tools (editor, debuggers, make etc). The compiler system is also very easily configured. It makes it particularly simple to organise code in different directories. Of course most of this is important only to people working on larger projects. In the race of who can compile "Erathostenes' Sieve" fastest and to fewest bytes this is not so important.
