Modula was designed (and probably implemented) before Niklaus Wirth went to Xerox PARC. After he returned, he designed Modula-2 which indeed inherited some concepts from Mesa, most notably the separation of modules into a definition and an implementation part. -- Robert Marti Phone: +41 1 254 72 60 Institut fur Informationssysteme ETH-Zentrum Internet: marti@inf.ethz.ch CH-8092 Zurich, Switzerland UUCP: ...uunet!mcvax!ethz!marti

A public domain package would be nice, but I'm willing to buy a package maybe ( with manuals). If someone can convince me that its worth looking into. I have heard that its similar to Pascal, and I don't like pascal at all. Pascal has its limitations. I don't realy like C either. A nice assembler would be nice. I need something that is expandable and easy to learn. And I need all the help and documentation I can get ! (If possible). Is anyone willing to help ? Hello James: FST2.xx is a good shareware Modula-2 compiler. Stony Brook and JPI also have good commercial Modula-2 compilers. Modula-2 is similar to Pascal in terms of high structure and readability. Modula-2 is as powerful as C, yet far easer to learn (only 40 reserved words). You can get help learning in this conference. -- uucp: uunet!m2xenix!puddle!273!101!Peter.M..Perchansky Internet: Peter.M..Perchansky@f101.n273.z1.fidonet.org
