[comp.lang.modula2] communikcations

peter@cs.umu.se (Peter Lundberg) (11/25/90)

Maybe anyone in netland can help me out with thisone...

I need to have my PC, via modem (modem1) call a second PC (modem2) to perform
filetransfers, but also to request the sending of a file (only text files)

this meens that:
- modem 1 must be able to call and to command modem 2.
- modem 2 must be able to respond.
- modem 1 must be able to acknowledge the response.

I can not use any commercial software package since this is must be an
integral part of a larger software. (it has to do with sending and
receiving results)

Preferably I would like to use Modula 2 or Turbo Pascal, any ideas
of how to do this??

responses please via Email to

Check out Solid software's communication toolkit. Also, if you are using
TopSpeed, I think that JPI has made a comms. toolkit.

Yes they do. With x-, -y, wx-modem and kermit protocols. And a "procomm
like" terminal program.
