[comp.lang.modula2] The Status of FST Modula-2

draper@buster.cps.msu.edu (Patrick J Draper) (01/10/91)

About 3 weeks ago I inquired in this newsgroup about the status of FST
Modula-2. I haven't learned anything since then, so I am asking again.

Does anybody know how to get Roger's attention? I can't send E-Mail - it
bounces. I can't get an answer on his bulletin board.

If all my attempts fail to contact him fail, what is the chance of me
getting the source code to the libraries from somebody? I registered last
summer, and he still has not cashed the check.

I badly need the source to the libraries in order to interface C and
Modula-2. I've got some projects that are dead in the water until I get
that code which I've tried very hard to pay for.

My worst fear is that I'll have to re-write about 5000 lines of Modula-2
in C and abandon the language for good. At least I know that I'll always
be able to get a C compiler somewhere. I can't really go out and buy a
commercial Modula compiler because I'm a poor student. I'll be able to
afford Borland's Turbo-C++ and that's about it.

I'd appreciate it if anybody could tell me anything about how to talk to
Roger. Let me know the last time his modem answered the bulletin board
line, etc. Any information might help.

Thanks,

cps.msu.edu remember that there have always
draper@cps.msu.edu been times like these.

I moderate the modula.2 conference on BIX. I haven't heard from Roger
Carvalho in quite a while. I will check his conference, and I will find out
when he last logged on to BIX, and will let you know.

Bad news, folks -- Roger hasn't checked into BIX in many, many months.
There has been no significant activity in the FST conference in a year and a
half. I think you have to write of FST Modula-2 if you're hoping for any
support...
