Well, I'm off BIX for financial reasons, not because I didn't like it. I stil
miss it. The modula-2 conf was pretty decent(gotta keep this on-topic
somehow!), and I could generally get any IBM PC questions I had answered. And
as a JPI user, it was handy to see Don Domitru et al in the M2 conference.

Well, sorry to hear that you're in the old CashCrunch. No fun at all,
that one. But BIX turns out not to be good for much. Very few .GIFs.
Very little of anything online as it turns out. They had some old version
of FST, claimed to have support from FST that was nonexistent (Carvalho seems
to have moved on; it is like BIX that he didn't log on for 9 months and they
never had a clue; the BIX boys and girls strike me as a rather clue-less
lot). It took a FidoNet discussion combined with USENET to figure out what
was up.
I think you're well out of it. Between distance charges of a minimum of
$20 a month, and a bill of $13 a month for BIX itself, it adds up quick and
videotapes are both cheaper and more entertaining.
They also don't take a high-handed exception to things and bash you
because you disagree.
