[comp.lang.modula2] JPAM BBS

Rw.Hutchinson@f503.n151.z1.fidonet.org (Rw Hutchinson) (03/21/91)

W.r.t. your recent message on the JPAM BBS and useful software for communications protocols to be downloaded from there: could you please repeat the 'phone number?
I tried the one in your previous message, and got a voice recording. Perhaps I entered it incorrectly (thrice). It seemed to be a residential number.
Besides, the Journal of Pascal, Ada, and Modula-2, which used to be associated with the BBS, folded. I thought the BBS had gone the same way, which is why I had not previously dialled it. Do I understand that JPI took the BBS over, when the Journal died?
Please repeat the 'phone number. The software sounded intriguing.

Someone on BIX pointed out that an earlier message here misquoted the phone
number for the JPAM BBS. The Toronto household who has been getting phone
calls would very much like them to stop. 8-)

The correct phone number is 415/967-7241.

By the way, I still maintain that BIX is one of the best resources for
information on Modula-2 and its practical application. We have
representatives from all the major IBM and Amiga Modula-2 vendors online,
including JPI, Logitech, and Stoney Brook. I will refrain from further
exposition on the value of BIX -- if you want a true picture of BIX, talk to a
_current_ BIXer.
