In response to the request for groups one likes that it seems nobody else has ever heard of, here are some: 1) Batdorf and Rodney 2) Aztec Two-Step 3) Tim Moore 4) Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers 5) George Brassens #'s 3 and 5 are really solo artists, I guess, not groups. On THIS net, I'll bet everybody's heard of #4. #5 sings in French. /Jeff Shallit

Fine artist. I believe his biggest claim to fame is the song
"Second Avenue" (Since we can no longer make it, girl. I'll find
a new place to live my life.). It made the pop charts a few years
back, but I believe the artist of that version was Art Garfunkel or
someone like him.

Yup, the first Batdorf and Rodney album, which I believe is untitled, has a great track called "Inner Poor Man's Dream"...haunting. -- ---Rsk UUCP: { decvax, icalqa, ihnp4, inuxc, sequent, uiucdcs } !pur-ee!rsk { decwrl, hplabs, icase, psuvax1, siemens, ucbvax } !purdue!rsk It's better to burn out, than to fade away...
