[comp.lang.modula2] Modula2 for PC

jcm@vulcan.anu.edu.au (James C. McPherson) (06/11/91)

Hi there. I'm an undergrad @ the ANU, currently being taught Modula-2. We are
now up to our third assignment, and I've gotten to the stage where I just cannot
live without a Modula compiler at home - the saving in travel time and petrol
would be worth it.
What I'm really looking for is a Public Domain modula-2 compiler to run on a
PC/XT compatible machine, WITHOUT a hard disk.
If someone can point me in the direction of some source code in C then I can
probably compile it (Turbo C2).

Thanks in advance,

			James C. McPherson

Thankyou to all who sent me suggestions (I got 3 within 6 hours). The Fitted
Software Tools compiler (simtel-20 archive) is available from sol.deakin.oz.au
by anonymous ftp.
HOWEVER, I cannot figure out the transfer mode to use.

Thanks again...

Will Shareware do? There's a shareware Modula-2 compiler available for the PC,
put out by FST. It is available on WSMR-SIMTEL20.ARMY.MIL, in the PD1:
<MSDOS-MODULA-2> directory. Don't know if it will run on floppies, though.
