[comp.lang.modula2] User opinion of Gardens Point Modula

Following on from the "great GPM debate"....

Speaking as a part-time student (and full-time programmer) who has used
GPM on a fair few occassions, including participation in a non-trivial
revision control system project (albeit at undergrad level), I have
found GPM to be an excellent package.

The type of code that I have written would probably not have tested GPM
to it's limits, but it certainly offers many meaningful error, information
and diagnostic messages. It is also very handy to be thrown into vi at the
point at which the error occurs.

I can't comment about implementation issues regarding the product, as I
know little about the internals of the software. My opinions are formed
only on what the average user would see.

For what it's worth, I would certainly offer a positive impression of the
product, and would suggest that the PC version would also be well worth a
look when it finally surfaces in production form.
