[] I am looking for a Pascal development system (ie: interpreter or compiler / debugger) that runs on the 68000 family. It would be used as part of a 68000 programming workstation running 4.2 BSD. I do realize that such an animal comes with 4.2, but I would like to know if there are any other alternatives. If anyone has ANY leads as to where I could find such a beast, I would appreciate it. Thanks. --- Don Picard {allegra,genrad,ihnp4,utzoo,philabs,uw-beaver}!linus!axiom!don US Mail: Axiom Technology 375 Elliot St. Newton, MA 02164 Phone: (617) 965-8010 Inquiring minds want to know.

Try: Oregon Software 6915 SW Macadam Ave. Portland, Oregon 97219 Sorry, I don't have a phone number handy. They have a find Pascal for 68K systems. Whether or not it will run on your particular system is open to question. Mike Ball TauMetric Corporation 1094 Cudahy Pl. Ste 302 San Diego, CA 92110

The UCSD p-System is alive and well, under the tender care of Pecan Software Systems, 1410 - 39th St., Brooklyn NY 11218; (718) 851-3100. The system is a p-code _interpreter_, has debuggers, native-code generators, and assemblers for various cpus, from the PDP-11 through the 68k. There is a UNIX-hosted implementation, which should run just fine on 68000-based boxes. Other languages available include Modula-2, FORTRAN, and BASIC. A great deal of applications software from numerous vendors is also available. Pecan's ads (not the finest or the most artistic) run in BYTE and several other magazines. Prices range from about $100 - $2k, depending on machine, bells and whistles. There is a large and active UCSD p-System Users' Society, with a Forum on CompuServe and an occasional newsletter -- much chatter and technical tips go on.
