Without *too* many busy signals (only 2 or 3) I was able to get through to Borland's 800 order number (800-543-7543) at about 3 or 3:30pm CA time. They said that TP 4.0 would be shipping by the end of next week or the beginning of the following week. The Developers Library will be shipping at the end of November or the beginning of December. Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with or financial interest in Borland International except that I buy their products and enjoy *not* having to pay a small fortune for good software. +---------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Mark H. Thanks to everyone who has replied to me concerning Turbo Pascal 4.0's shipping date. This morning (Friday 11/6/87) UPS dropped my copy off. The package was shipped Wednesday, 11/4. The files on the disk are dated 4:00 AM 11/2/87. So to those of you who are waiting, it should be soon. My order was made 10/13, so you can estimate where in the queue you are. -- -- Paul :

Turbo Pascal 4.0 just arrived here. The manual is big, and the program is big. No BCD support any more. The user interface is much like Turbo C, as reported here previously. It came UPS Blue, if it matters to you. -- Jim Gillogly {hplabs, ihnp4}!sdcrdcf!randvax!jim jim@rand-unix.arpa [HASA: U (Spam) division]

I received my TP.4.0 11/9 it was shipped 11/5 2nd day air. The UPS blue charge was $6.00. Borland charged me $10.00 Coincidentally, Microsoft MASM 5.0 arrived on my doorstep the same day. Same size box, about the same weight as TP. Microsoft charged me $2.50 for S/H total. Oh, BTW, the MASM 5.0 upgrade was $40. TP upgrade $39.95 + $10.00 = $49.95 MASM upgrade $40.00 + $ 2.50 = $42.50 I think Borland made a few bucks on this deal considering I'd probably be able to pick up a brand new package for close to that amount in a few months. -- ------------------------ | Mike 312-510-6449 | | ihnp4!ihlpf!michael1 | ------------------------
