[comp.lang.pascal] graphics on the IBM

coulter@wheaton.UUCP (Scott D. Coulter ) (12/13/87)

Hi, folks. I have some questions regarding graphics programming
environments with the IBM PC. I'm programming in Turbo Pascal, and I find
that the Turbo Graphix Toolbox doesn't do all that I need it to; namely it
only allows one foreground color.
I would like to know if there is any system which I can use to generate
graphics to be used in conjunction with Turbo Pascal. The most important
need here is COLOR, but speed is also a factor (I'm designing a system which
will be used by the "uneducated" {computerwise} public, so I need impressive
screens, and not a lot of wait time).
I saw a demo program which displayed a wristwatch and looked very good,
with good resolution and at least 6 colors on the screen. Unfortunately,
I don't have the source file. It was supposedly done in
Turbo Pascal along with something called "EGA Graph" and "EGA Paint". Has
anyone used these programs? _ANY_ feedback on these or other similar
systems would be GREATLY appreciated.
   PLEASE E-mail; I will summarize if anyone cares . . .
thanks in advance.
