I am in the process of writing a paper on TP40 and in this I would like to discuss (among other things) how it interfaces with the underlying operating system and how this affects/enhances it's power and flexibility. One of the chief reasons for including this in the paper, is that many times , while compiling in the integrated environment, an "Out of memory" (Borland suggests using the command line version compiler to get around this - a minor pain for spoilt programmers) error occurs. (This is on a 1 Meg RAM system). Obviously something must not be right here since memory used by Turbo does not even come close to ~1000K limit. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks -Kenwyn ! e-mail preferred. If there is much interest in this I will post replies to the net.
