[Ok, lets see if we can get this article right the second time around.] I need help on a small programming problem on the IBM. What I need to do is this: I want a person to be able to call up a BBS up with, say, Procomm Plus or Telix, then shell out to DOS, run my program, which will take control of the modem for a while, do it's thing, return the user to the shell, and then let the user jump back into whatever program they shelled from. I've been playing around with both the simple routines in the TP manual and the RS232 unit posted here a while back, but both have the same reaction - I shell out, run the .exe file and get "NO CARRIER", even when I have been connected. What modifications do I need to make to, say, the routines listed in the TP manual to take control of a modem already connected to a host, and then relenquish control without hanging the mode up? Or have I just run into one of those lovely hardware dependent bugs? (I'm using USRobotics internal 1200 modem). Thanks for any help!
