From: akov68::boyajian There actually are a number of authors who have participated in the making of films based on their work. Aside from the ones mentioned (Wells on THINGS TO COME -- he wrote the screenplay, LeGuin on LATHE OF HEAVEN, Clarke on 2001, etc.) there are: Ray Bradbury did the screenplay for SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES Richard Matheson did the screenplay for SOMEWHERE IN TIME (based on his novel BID TIME RETURN) Frank Herbert is consultant on DUNE William Peter Blatty wrote the screenplay for and produced THE EXORCIST Matheson also did a number of TWILIGHT ZONE scripts based upon his short stories, one of which he rewrote for the movie. James Gunn had some consulting capacity for the tv-movie and series based on his THE IMMORTALS William F. Nolan had similar capacity on LOGAN'S RUN Larry Niven wrote a script for the Star Trek animated series based on his story "The Soft Weapon" If I really put my mind to it, I could probably think of a lot more. --- jayembee (Jerry Boyajian, DEC Maynard) UUCP: (decvax!decwrl!rhea!akov68!boyajian) ARPA: (decwrl!rhea!akov68!boyajian@Shasta)
