Exactly. There is such little traffic in here as it is, if you take us Turbo Pascal programmers out, you aren't going to have much of a discussion at all. I agree with those of you who feel that Turbo dominates this base, but why would you want to read nothing at all? Mannie@cup.portal.com

I'm not in favor of killing all the Turbo programmers, but I would like to see messages which have to do with *Pascal*. In other words, system-specific questions like "How do I make a TSR?" probably don't belong here; questions like "What's the Turbo font file format" are questionable; and questions like "What are the differences between Turbo and ISO Pascal" don't bug me at all. If it's PC-specific, keep it in the IBM-PC groups, please. I think what we need as well as other groups is to set and insert some standard keywords in the subject string so it would convey the content of the messages easily. These could be things such as a ?,rsqt if the content of note is a question or a request DISC for discussion PMAC for a pascal-mac TP for Turbo-Pascal PC for a PC related STD for a question on Pascal standard. etc.. Such a convention will allow readers to easily pinpoint any postings of interest. These abbreviations can be set and enforced by the group moderator. They have to be of course more or less unique. For example I can easily skim thru the subjects of comp.land.database and KILL any postings about say Informix if every body consistently include this keyword part of the posting title. -- nacer
