[comp.lang.pascal] Program to show pascal record structure

conan@vax1.acs.udel.EDU (Robert B Carroll) (07/06/89)

Does anyone know of a program that will read a group of pascal files
and print out the structure of a selected record down to the basic
types? It has to be written in pascal and portable across operating
systems(except for differences in versions of pascal). It has to be able
to handle VERY LARGE records with variant fields. It also has to
handle nested records(#of nested levels should not be limited, okay maybe 11).
it shouldn't get confused with ptrs(ala linked lists etc.).
local/global/file global records should be handled appropriatly and take scope
rules into account.

I'm working on a very large fault tolerant triplex computer system that
runs 'our' dedicated system. Very LARGE system/program(s).
Oh yeah we use vms pascal.
it would be most helpful if someone could point me in the right
direction or suggest such a program. i have a feeling i'm going to have
to write the program myself ands it going to be a pain. send mail
directly to:
