I am looking for the address of upper half of the ascii character font bitmaps. Let me give the background. The ascii characters from 0 to 127 are bitmapped in eight byte blocks starting from the address F000:FA6E Hex in a PC and from address F000:1A6E on an AT. But where the heck is the upper part (128-255) of the character font bitmap located? I know that in an EGA and VGA system the interrupt 10 Hex, service 11 Hex, subservice 30 Hex with bh = 4 should give the address, but I would like to know it also in the case of a CGA. I also know that CGA in itself only supports 0-127, but the upper half of the font bitmap must be around somewhere, because the ordinary text mode is able to use them. ...................................................................
