A long, long time ago (probably mid-50's) I read a book in which people got this desease which turned them into super-folk (indestructable and very strong as I recall). The name of the desease was Murchansens Desease or something not too far from that. Anybody know the Title and/or author? Tom Crawford ...amd70!tc

The book has appeared under 2 titles I am aware of: "Space Plague" (abridged version) and "Highways in Hiding" (orig. title). The author is George O. Smith. The disease, by the way, was "Mekstrom's Disease", not "Murcheson's". Fine book; one of my old favorites.

The copy I had was titled "Space Plague" and I think the disease was called something closer to "Mekstrom's disease". I don't remember the author's name. My copy of the book was swallowed by the post office when I mailed it to myself (for good reasons which I won't go into). I have been looking for another copy for a looooonnnnggggg time. ...!utzoo!uwo!deepthot!watmath!... ! ! magi magi (David Wiseman @ UWO Comp Sci, London Canada)
