From: Mike Caplinger <mike@rice> I've heard that John Brunner's novel THE SHOCKWAVE RIDER was released in England in substantially different form than the US Ballantine edition. In fact, I recall reading that Brunner was quite peeved that Ballantine had mercilessly hacked his work, even removing a character without his permission. Could someone tell me roughly what was changed between the two versions? Pointers to British editions that might be available in the US would also be appreciated. Since the Ballantine version was so good, I can't help wondering what the original was like. thanks, Mike
